First school- first impressions

Alina Rusu: I must say I’m impressed by the will and patience of the students we delivered our first sessions in Liepaja. It was the celebration of the last bell, but our pupils were in classess, listening to environmental issues and how can we solve them. Wow :) Any other student whould go home or any other place, but they stayed till the end, they were actively involved and they seem to enjoy their time. This is great, guys! If you keep up this way, you’ll succeed in everything you set up your mind, I’m sure!

Even though our sessions were of 30 minutes instead of the usual 45, we managed to deliver the message and I’m quite sure it wasn’t in vain. Liepaja itself is a clean town, but there is no perfectly clean and environmental friendly town anywhere in the world, so it’s really up to us to do something about this, starting by increasing awarness among people.

Thanks to our team, thanks to schools’ principle and teachers for a warm welcoming and thanks to the pupils who attended our sessions- you were great! :)

Ana Marija: Finally Liepaja!! City of the rock music, sea and sun… Sounds like my type of a town! :)

Now about the first school… School part of the day passed pretty fast. All high school students were listening and participating in sessions with great spirit and we could sense that they were interested (like the students from rest of the schools also) and curious in what we have to say, because we came from all over the world to be in Latvia to talk with them about environmental issues in their country through sharing ideas and knowledge from our countries. I have to emphasize that I was very proud of my fellow project mates because we manage to maintain maximum concentration till the very end even though it was pretty hard considering the fact that it was the last day of the lectures for some of the students involved.

Genevieve: Alright! The first school for one of the nicest places in Latvia to be. It was a surprising visit as we realised that the students here are having state exams so there were changes in how we executed the sessions. It was a rather short visit but I was glad that we managed to give some insight on the environment to the students before they left for their revisions or holidays. I really hoped that they could remember some of what we and their fellow students shared with them! Last but not least, all the best for exams=)
